Solidarity as Strategic Defense
Diversity as our Greatest Shield
We believe that a diversity of lived experiences is the only way to eliminate "analytical blind spots." By centering voices that have been historically marginalized, we ensure that corruption has nowhere to hide.
The Redline Against Division
We view the active rejection of inclusion (DEI programs) as a primary indicator of exploitative and predatory intent. Where others use division as a tool of tyranny, we use belonging as a counter-measure. We will not "obey in advance" as others have by stripping away the values that make our movement resilient.
Radical Accessibility
Democracy should not be a luxury of the elite. We operationalize equity through low-barrier participation, plain-language intelligence, and digital tools designed for everyone.
Evidence over Ideology
Our integrity is rooted in rigorous data. We focus on the act of corruption, not the personality or the ideological branding. We are not guided by people's "beliefs" or "principals", but rather the hard evidence of their actions. Those that engage in corrupt acts will be exposed, while those that use power to serve and protect people with integrity will be praised.
Why We Do This

Nick Van Zandt, Board President and Executive Director
“As a veteran I see the Constitution as a living oath. I refuse to be a spectator to seeing our democracy torn apart. We're building the tools for all others wishing to get off the sidelines.”

Deanna Wilken, Board Treasurer & Human Rights Strategist
“I joined this initiative to ensure universal human rights finally take precedence over elite wealth. We are moving human dignity from the backburner to the forefront.”

Emely Adames, Project Manager
“Democracy is not a fixed destination; it must be actively and continuously fought for, and that fight belongs to all of us.”

Paola Bruce, Operations & Volunteer Coordination
“I volunteer with Unruled Masses to transform isolation into collective action, empowering informed citizens to expose corruption and build a more equitable, resilient democracy.”

Lorraine Woiak, Researcher & Mental Health Advocate
“I have a lifelong passion to help others and for honest advocacy, I volunteer to connect with like-minded changemakers and help create the reliable resources and support systems that empower people to fight for a better world.”
Our Culture
A Community of Equals
Unruled Masses is 100% volunteer-led. We are a multidisciplinary team—former government officers, scientists, tech and communications experts, community organizers, social workers, and human rights strategists—working side-by-side. There are no hierarchies here, only a shared commitment to the rule of law and the defense of our neighbors.
Peaceful, Joyful Resistance
While we confront the world's ugliness, we refuse to let it consume us. We remain joyful stewards of this mission. We believe that hope is a strategic resource, and we protect it by fostering a culture of mutual care and support.
From the Screen to the Square
We aren't just a digital platform; we are a real-world presence. Soon you'll find us at festivals, community gatherings, and local events. Our goal is to bring people back to the physical world, building the civic infrastructure and "connective tissue" required to meet real human needs.
Hope Lives in the Fight
Oppression feeds on isolation and despair. We counter this by building agency. We celebrate the courage of ordinary people and believe that victory over fear is the first step toward a better tomorrow.
Pro-Democracy Partner Unity
Everything we do is geared towards working with partners. All nonprofits and other organizations committed to the cause of democracy, social justice, and human rights are invited to join the Unruled Partners program so we can build critical mass for democracy together.
