Just when you think Trump and his allies couldn’t be any more cravenly corrupt and illegitimate with their power, they go and do something like this.
Usually when corruption is exposed it takes journalists working around the clock, checking microfiche, following up on leads, talking to strangers in trench coats in parking lots.
Rarely is a crime so brazen as to be committed in broad daylight. And even rarer is when the crime is so big that it defies belief.
But that’s exactly what happened a few days ago when America’s kleptocratic dictator Donald Trump successfully sued his own government resulting in a slush fund worth $1.8 billion.
And what will he do with this massive influx of your money?
Award it to his most cravenly corrupt and criminally depraved friends.
According to Trump’s personal lawyers masquerading as the highest attorney in the land, Todd Blanche, said the ‘Anti-Weaponization Fund” will create “a lawful process for victims of lawfare and weaponization to be heard and seek redress.”
Blanche is, of course, not describing the policemen who were stomped on, pummeled, and murdered by the mob of MAGA insurrectionists on January 6th – but rather the mob members themselves.
As with most things related to Trump, this whole scheme has been nakedly partisan, poorly thought out, and greedy. No mention was ever made as to how the funds will be dispersed.
Which means that the money will stay in Trump’s pocket for however long he wants it to stay there, be dispersed to whoever can promise him something in return, and will be used to target and destroy his enemies.
Make no mistake: Trump has robbed you.
This was your tax money that is now going to be used to fund personal grievances for the Trump family.
And, just another example of the Trump family’s plan of embezzling massive amounts of wealth–like their idiotic crypto coin, the other slush fund for his idiotic ballroom, or just the myriad ways that come with his not divesting from his real estate empire.
The ripples of this corruption will be felt painfully for a long time.
