Unruled Masses Wants to Thank its All-Star Volunteers

April is National Volunteer Month!

This is a time to celebrate and recognize the many hours volunteers work to improve the world around them.

From people working at food banks and cleaning up local parks to those planting trees and beautifying their neighborhoods, the spirit of service is everywhere. Here at Unruled Masses, we want to give a big shout-out to our own volunteers.

What began as a mission to expose corruption, categorize abuse, and help protestors get the actionable intelligence they need has quickly become something far bigger than we ever could have imagined. In just a few weeks’ time, over 50 volunteers answered the call to join our mission, with more coming on board every day. It’s safe to say that without them, we’d be nowhere.

History shows us that the status quo never moves unless it's pushed. The biggest changes occur when people volunteer to make things happen. From the underground networks driving the abolitionist movement and those marching tirelessly for women's suffrage to the student volunteers of the Freedom Summer who risked everything to dismantle Jim Crow. The most profound shifts in our society didn't start with a government mandate; they started with ordinary people volunteering to do the extraordinary.

volunteering democracy

It’s no exaggeration to say that our work simply wouldn’t be possible without their dedication. Our people were out there in New York, DC, Charlotte, and New Orleans, pounding the pavement and talking to people on the front lines of democracy making their voices heard at No Kings protests.

We’re exposing corruption and putting our politicians on blast—like we did with the $1.5 trillion defense pork bill spending extravaganza. And, through their tireless work, Unruled Masses was already able to achieve its 501(c)(3) status, clearing the way for us to really start making noise and exposing corruption at the highest levels.

Heck, as an all-volunteer organization, the people writing this post are also volunteers.

To every current and future volunteer, whether you've served with us once or are here almost every single day: Thank you for your compassion, your generosity, and the care you bring to our mission. We couldn't do this without you!

And, if you are looking to make an impact and join an organization dedicated to preserving our democracy, standing up for your rights, and exposing corruption at both the highest and local levels…
